The Commit
North Carolina

“I love the atmosphere at UNC. The expectation for all sports and athletes is to compete for a national championship, and academically to have some of the best students in the country. This creates a place where everyone is looking to improve themselves.

I also feel like the coaches 100% believe in my ability to become a national champion and are invested in helping me reach that point.”

“Back in February, I reclassified and am now graduating in the class of 2021, so I am now going into my senior year.

Coming into high school, I knew I was going to have enough credits to graduate high school in 3 years. At first, I wasn’t considering doing it, but last summer I spent a lot of time thinking about it. I came to the conclusion that reclassifying would help me to refocus my life and become the best person I could be.”

The Others
Brown, Chattanooga, Cornell, Pennsylvania

The Division
“It has been a dream of mine to compete on the world stage. D1 and the ACC give me the resources and experiences I need in order to reach that point.”

The Keys
“The biggest thing I looked for was academics. I want to make sure that when I graduate, the degree I earned will put me in a position to excel.

Next was the coaching staff. I want coaches who care about every aspect of my life.”

The Fit
“I look to serve others and will work hard in every facet of my life to become the best version of myself I can be.”

“I am going to wrestle hard the entire match and continue to put points on the board.”

“I plan on being a 125.

I have grown a lot this summer, and I think I am going to be a good-sized 120 this coming season putting me in a good position to be 125 the next year.”

The Now
“I need to work on movement on my feet.”

“This final year, I’m not really focused on results. I just want to get a little bit better every day and enjoy this last high school wrestling season.”

The Future
“My goal is to win a national championship.

As a team, we want to win a team trophy and ultimately compete for a national title.”

“I left it all on the mat and had fun doing it.”

The Message
“UNC is a place that will give you great opportunities, academically, and athletically. This paired the beauty of the campus makes UNC a special place.”

The Fun Fact
Back in 8th grade, the high school team my middle school filtered into had their 113 quit 2 weeks before the postseason. At the time, I was wrestling 86 in middle school, and I was able to bump up to fill the hole.

I ended up being a state qualifier at 113 and won 2 matches at state to help the team place 2nd.”

“It was tough, but I enjoyed getting to help my teammates reach their postseason goals.”

The Tar Heels
D1 School located in Chapel Hill, NC.

Had 7 National Qualifiers for 2020 National Tournament.
